ALEXANDRIA, VA. – This week, the Virginia Education Association (VEA) officially endorsed Delegate Mark Sickles (D-43) for reelection because of his “commitment to public education and children.” The VEA represents over 50,000 teachers and school support professionals, who continually strive to improve the Commonwealth’s public education system.
“I am extremely thankful for the support of the VEA. As long as I continue to represent the 43rd District in Richmond, education will remain my top priority. During my tenure in office, I have consistently advocated for lower tuition at our colleges, better early childhood education opportunities for at-risk children, and most importantly, reform of the discriminatory State funding formula that disproportionally affects Northern Virginia’s public schools.”
“As a new member of the Appropriations Committee, I will continue to fight for funding for our schools in order to ensure that we provide our children the education they need and deserve”
